.click() fails

Description

see http://groups.google.com/group/jquery-en/msg/1e858147be506d1b

i ran into the same problem. John suggest that an entry be made here for the problem, but i couldn't find it anywhere.

example...

<table><tr><td onclick="$(this).find('a').click()">

<a onclick="alert(1);">link</a>

</td></tr></table>

when you click on the TD, the onclick handler associated with the A doesn't get called.

it would be nice if this worked so that the "drop-in and work" capability of jquery is maintained. not everyone wants to rewrite their site to strip out all the onclick events.

Thanks.
